Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, and Identity Theft Protection are available to you, your spouse, and your dependent children. However, employees must have coverage in order for their spouse and children to obtain coverage.
Voluntary Benefits are insurance offerings that are available to employees at discounted rates. They offer cost savings versus individual market rates and allow employees access to different types of insurance products. Voluntary Benefits are primarily administered by the respective providers but enrollment and payroll deductions are managed by BBC Studios.
Voluntary Benefits are just that, voluntary.ย The costs for voluntary benefits are 100% paid by the employee.ย ย
Voluntary Accident Insurance (MetLife)
Offers coverage to help offset the costs that may not be covered under your medical plan.
- Lump-sum payment directly to you when a covered person has medical services/treatments related to accidental injuries, such as doctors’ visits, ambulance, medical testing and physical therapy.
- Two plan options are a available: High Plan and Low Plan

- Provides coverage to you and your family for financial support to offset the expenses of a serious/critical illness.
- Coverage provides you with a lump-sum payment.
- Two levels of benefit coverage to choose from: $10,000 or $20,000.

1) coverage amount
2) smoker status
3) benefit election
4) employee age

Voluntary Pet Insurance (Nationwide)
- Nationwide pet insurance helps you cover veterinary expenses. Pay for coverage through a convenient after-tax payroll deduction.
- Enroll at any time (not limited to open enrollment periods) through Nationwide.
- Choice of reimbursement options offering coverage that fits your budget. All plans have a $250 annual deductible and $7,500 maximum annual benefit.
- All policies include Vet Helpline with 24/7 access to veterinary experts and Pet Rx Express
- Additional benefits: Multiple pet discounts, guaranteed insurance, and no waiting period for hereditary condition coverage
- Monthly rates vary by state, coverage level, pet age, and pet type. Rates for your pet(s) will be provided by Nationwide through a no-obligation quote upon application (5% discount from independent plans).

Enrollment and Coverage Information
How to Enroll:
1. Complete Nationwide application.
2. Nationwide will review application and provide you with rates for your pet.
3. If you decide to move forward after reviewing the rates, confirm enrollment with Nationwide and send rate details to Catherine De La Cruz or Sophia Tsikalas in BBC Studios Human Resources to start the monthly deductions in payroll.
Note: if you have an existing pet insurance policy with Nationwide from a previous employer or a standalone policy that you are interested in moving over to BBC Studios, please contact Nationwide at 800-540-2016 and provide them with your policy number and they will advise you on next steps.
